Meet Our Team

Dr. Heather Spiewak

Dr. Heather Spiewak joined the Genoa Animal Hospital team in February 2016. You may have already met Dr. Spiewak, as she has worked with us through the years when Dr. Seneczko was away. She is very excited to be a permanent member of the team!

Dr. Spiewak (or “Dr. Heather” as many clients refer to her) graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She has worked in the veterinary field her whole life, and brings over a decade of experience as a veterinarian. She truly enjoys getting to know her patients and working with their family to give them the best quality of life. Clients love her approachable personality, gentle care, and dedication to her patients.

Dr. Spiewak’s special interests include managing chronic diseases, preventative care, emergency care, pain management, and dermatology. She worked at a bull dog specialty hospital for several years and is very skilled at managing their unique medical problems.

In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. Spiewak is thrilled to be bringing exotic care to Genoa Animal Hospital. She will be happy to care for your rabbits, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, and mice. Dr. Spiewak performs medical exams, diagnostics, and surgeries on dogs, cats, and the above mentioned exotic small mammals. She is USDA certified, and is a member of the AVMA, ISVMA, and CVMA.

In her free time, Dr. Spiewak enjoys spending time with her family-both “2”and “4-legged”!

Dr. Spiewak will be seeing appointments on Wednesdays from 2 pm – 7 pm, and will be rotating on Saturdays with Dr. Seneczko.

She is very excited to meet all of our wonderful patients and their families. We are certain you and your pets will enjoy her addition to our practice.
